Somehow we got here, all in this room
Well, it’s so filled with bliss, and so filled with doom
We’re all dying together
Somehow we’re laughing, and carrying on
When we know in an instant, it all could be gone
We’re all dying here together
Life don’t cost nothing, but your sweet time
And you know you’d be spending it anyway
So hold every minute, like it’s your last dime
For the good lord could take it from you anyday
Sometimes I think that I’m the only one
Who fears every second before it’s begun
We’re all dying together
Sometimes I think that I’m the only one
Who looks to the sky and can’t find the sun
We’re all dying here together
Life don’t cost nothing, but your sweet time
And you know you’d be spending it anyway
So hold every minute, like it’s your last dime
For the good lord could take it from you anyday
Someday the dim lights of our night life will fade
With the sand in the ashtray, we’ll be tossed away
We’re all dying together
Someday the comfort of kinship we knew
Will all disappear down that dark avenue
We’re all dying alone
As I listen to this album more and more I start discover aspects that I hadn't felt before. My love for every individual track continues to grow, but Change has remained in my heart as a deep drive to get me through the day. seonghi
Sweet harmonies & strummed melodies; the duo delve into decades-old folk, jazz, and country to find a timeless kind of love and connection. Bandcamp New & Notable May 23, 2018
The best I've heard from Steve Earle in a while. The songs have a subtler, earthier tone, tastefully rendered in authentic sounding country/blues/bluegrass stylings. 'J.T' reminds of earlier records like 'Feel Alright' or 'Train a Comin'.
Deep grief, love and compassion is felt on the final track, the only composition from Steve, seemingly written for his son. The rest, composed by JT, do confirm what a great songwriter he really was. tideracer
