You caught me in a time of doubt
So young among the downtown glow
The freshest bloom that you could find
With a forlorn face, and a mouth filled with woe
You caught me in a childish time
And took me in, to still my shaking
You became all I couldn’t live without
Then you cut me off, now my veins are aching
You walk through this world like you’ve been here before
You’re always certain and I’m never sure
I drank your poison now I’m going back where the water is pure
I drifted from your grand devise
And faltered from what you collected
No longer satisfied your hungry eyes
A half-grown field that you neglected
I knew that you had turned on me
So I ran for those southern hills
Where the only people that I see
Is the doctor, my Mother, and Dad
You walk through this world like you’ve been here before
You’re always certain and I’m never sure
I drank your poison now I’m going back where the water is pure

As I listen to this album more and more I start discover aspects that I hadn't felt before. My love for every individual track continues to grow, but Change has remained in my heart as a deep drive to get me through the day. seonghi
Sweet harmonies & strummed melodies; the duo delve into decades-old folk, jazz, and country to find a timeless kind of love and connection. Bandcamp New & Notable May 23, 2018

The best I've heard from Steve Earle in a while. The songs have a subtler, earthier tone, tastefully rendered in authentic sounding country/blues/bluegrass stylings. 'J.T' reminds of earlier records like 'Feel Alright' or 'Train a Comin'.
Deep grief, love and compassion is felt on the final track, the only composition from Steve, seemingly written for his son. The rest, composed by JT, do confirm what a great songwriter he really was. tideracer
